Canuck Place opened its doors in Vancouver in 1995 as the first freestanding children’s hospice in North America. Today it offers a comprehensive continuum of care to over 400 children and teens with life-threatening illnesses and their families throughout BC, and is recognized globally as a leader in pediatric palliative care. The unique program offers world-class health care within a home-like environment, with comfortable surroundings, personalized programs, caring professional staff and dedicated volunteers.

Through all stages of a child’s illness, an individual program is designed to meet the needs of each family. Services include: Family Support and Respite Care, Expressive Therapies (music, art, play and recreational therapy), School (for all children in-house, including siblings), Pain & Symptom Management, End-of-Life Care, Grief and Bereavement Counselling, Nursing & Medical Consultation, and Outpatient Clinic (at BC Children’s Hospital).
