“Aeroplan Miles helped us bring Richard Louv together with Canadians”
In May 2014, Earth Day Canada helped bring internationally recognized journalist and author, Richard Louv to Toronto for a special presentation about reconnecting children to nature.
Sponsored by Toronto French School, Evergreen and Earth Day Canada, Richard delivered a presentation on the growth of Nature Deficit Disorder and the importance of nature to childhood development to a crowd of over 400 members of the local environmental and outdoor education community. The event included a panel discussion with Richard Louv, Jennifer Keesmaat, City of Toronto Chief Planner and Cam Collyer, Evergreen Program Director.
Thanks to the support of the Aeroplan Beyond Miles program, the Toronto environmental community now has a greater understanding of the importance of connecting children to nature and the role of both schools and the community.
