about

The University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) has a rich history with roots in two predecessor institutions: Prince of Wales College (est. 1834) and St. Dunstan’s University (est. 1855). Established in 1969, UPEI’s current four faculties (arts, education, science, and veterinary medicine) and two schools (business and nursing) offer a wide range of programs and degrees to more than 4,600 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students from around the world.

UPEI has maintained the long history of athletics. Known for athletes such as Joel Ward, Vernon Pahl, Dave Cameron, Billy MacMillan and Jim Foley, the UPEI Panthers have nine teams participating in Atlantic University Sport (AUS) and Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS).

These teams and their players have proven to be excellent role models and students, claiming various titles this past season including: 16 AUS All Stars, two AUS All Rookie Team Members, two CIS All-Canadians, and 54 CIS Academic All-Canadians.

Recruiting the best and brightest to UPEI is essential to the next generation of UPEI Panthers and they will have the opportunity to reach their potential not only in their sport but in the classroom through the UPEI educational experience.

Your support, through donation of Aeroplan Miles, will go toward this essential recruitment program.
