Northern Youth Abroad is a not for profit, registered charity that operates an educational work and travel program for predominantly indigenous youth from Nunavut and the Northwest Territories. Approximately 50 participants each year complete assignments and travel to cities across Canada and abroad (recently to Costa Rica and Guatemala) volunteering, exchanging culture, developing leadership and workplace skills and earning up to 9 high school credits for completing one of our programs.

    What began as a pilot program in 1998 for ten youth from what would become Nunavut, now prepares to celerbate two decades of programming serving more than 50 youth per year from Nunavut and the Northwest Territories.
